The book is short, easy to read, insightful and full of pictures. The main point? Colleges show off their campuses and talk about how well they educate you. But really, they can’t provide most of what good education requires. No school can. You pay a lot of money for classes and a place to stay, but that doesn’t mean you’re automatically going to learn a lot. What you’re really getting is about 100 days at college, or one semester. Only a small part of that time is for classes. The rest is your time to use however you want. Every hour at college costs money, whether you’re in class, sleeping, studying, or having fun.

The idea seems simple enough. But to really understand how these 100 days can get so mixed up and hard to handle, you need to read this book carefully. To better handle higher education, and succeed, start reading this book. Heed the lessons. Don’t skip anything, even the extra stuff at the end. Everything in the book will help you get ready for your first semester of college.
